Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce, organic
- 1 ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk or whole milk from grass-fed cows, organic
- 1 cup rolled oats, gluten-free and organic
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 apple, organic, cut into small pieces
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- 1. In a medium bowl, combine the almond butter and applesauce until smooth. Whisk in the almond milk. Add a few more tablespoons if you like a thinner consistency.
- 2. Stir in the oats, chia seeds, cinnamon and salt. Fold in the chopped apples. Sweeten to taste with maple syrup if desired. I prefer to avoid added sweeteners though.
- 3. Refrigerate in individual cups or bowls overnight and enjoy the next morning.
Notes
- When using almond milk, make sure it is organic, unsweetened, and free of carrageenan and soy lecithin. Not all almond milk is healthy.
